Are you ready to switch your account(s) to Manhattan Bank? We're happy to welcome you! To help make the switch go smoothly, we have listed some things you will need to do. Please contact a Customer Service Representative with any questions, e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (406) 284-3255.
Once you have your Manhattan Bank account established, stop using your former bank account, but be sure to keep enough funds in the old account to cover any outstanding checks, automatic withdrawals and automatic payments. Keep your old account open until your direct deposits and automatic payments are switched to your new Manhattan Bank account.
Contact all organizations that are currently making direct deposits into your account. Please download our Direct Deposit Transfer form and use it to notify the organizations. This may include deposits for payroll, social security, interest payments, etc.
For changing your Social Security Deposits, go to www.ssa.gov/deposit/howtosign.htm or call the Social Security Administration at 1-800-772-1213.
Think about how you make each of your payments today. Methods may include automatic withdrawals from your checking account or automatic payments from your debit card. Contact all organizations presently making automatic withdrawals from your current bank accounts. Please download our Automatic Withdrawal Transfer Form and use it to notify the organizations.
For your convenience, here's a checklist of automatic payments you might need to switch over to your new Manhattan Bank account.
HINT: Your current bank statement is a good source to find all payments you need to switch, and the people you need to notify regarding direct deposit. Don't forget about any payments you make less often than monthly (such as insurance premiums), or automatic charges against your debit card.
Once your last check, automatic withdrawal and/or automatic payment has cleared, you are ready to close your former accounts. Please contact your former bank to close your account(s).
